We found open houses in Cedar Rapids, Iowa via Craigslist by going to CedarRapids.Craigslist.org/rea/

At the top of the page we can enter a price range or number of bedrooms, and can enter into the "Search For" field the word "Open" then click "Search"

That's even friendlier than the Coldwell Banker Hedges website with it's take-it-all-or-leave-it approach (same with IAHomesForSale.com).

Of course not all of the Craigslist results are going to be for Cedar Rapids, Iowa open houses.

We found open houses in Cedar Rapids, Iowa via Iowa Realty's website by going to and clicking on the "Open Houses" link at the top of the page.

The website then showed a form where we could select the date of interest AND (unlike Coldwell Banker Hedges or IAHomesForSale.com) enter other criteria like number of bedrooms, minimum number of acres, etc.

We usually used their list view, but occasionally used their map view.

We found open houses in Cedar Rapids via Coldwell Banker Hedges website by navigating our browsers to CBHRealty.com and clicking the "Open Houses" link at the top of their main page.

Then on their "Upcoming Open Houses" page we clicked on the links for the days we were interested in.

The search results for open houses can't be filtered by location or price or features like number of bedrooms, or number of acres.

When you look at Coldwell Banker Hedges open houses for Cedar Rapids, you kinda just take what they give you.

We found Open Houses in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Skogman.com by visiting Skogman.com and hovering our mouse over the main menu "Search" label.

It then expanded to display "Open Houses" which we then clicked.

The search form then displayed in the main portion of the browser window.

When we search for open houses using the IAHomesForSale.com website we simply went to IAHomesForSale.com and clicked the "Listings" link on the left side of the page.

We were then shown a form where we could search listings based on city, price, etc.

However, instead of doing that, there was a link under the form labelled "Open Houses" that we clicked (Complaint: That "Open Houses" link should probably be on the main page of the website or as a checkbox/radiobutton part of the search form.)

By visiting FSBOHomesIowa.com we clicked on the "Buy a Home" tab at the top of the page.

Their "Search Iowa Homes for Sale" page displayed and showed a form with a 'Location:" field in which we typed: "Cedar Rapids, IA"

We then clicked "Search Homes" button that was on that form.

The "View Cedar Rapids Homes for Sale" display all the results in a "List view." At the top right of the page, we could click "Map View" to view the results on a Cedar Rapids area map.

We became pretty good at finding open houses in Cedar Rapids after we'd missed a few homes that we wanted to see.
